Bhutan is where happiness is a philosophy and COMO Uma is where it becomes your everyday experience.
Imagine how fantastic it would be to wake up in a valley with pine trees, drinking tea with sunlight reflecting mountains brightening over the morning in a whole luxury settings. That’s the kind of treatment you can have on Classic Vacations Nepal Bhutan Luxury Trip with Como Uma Hotels, four days in the “Land of Thunder Dragon”.
The Bhutan Luxury Tour by Como Uma Hotels - 4 Days gives you back the time to appreciate every moment you spend here instead of rushing through five valleys in just a few days.
The tour includes two nights at Como Uma Paro, a luxurious property located in the hills overlooking the Paro Valley - the most beautiful of all of Asia's luxury hotels. One night is spent at Como Uma Punakha, a truly special place that connects you with the spiritual centre of Bhutan.
Punakha feels like it is straight out of a fairy tale from centuries ago, where monks still conduct their lives within the walls of ancient monasteries and continue to practice the same rituals and customs of their ancestors.
What makes this Como Uma Hotels Bhutan Luxury Tour special? It's the perfect balance. You'll trek to Tiger's Nest Monastery (that impossibly jaw-dropping, cliff-perched temple you've seen in photos), tour hallowed dzongs, try traditional Bhutanese meals prepared by the hotels' chefs and meet with local families who will share their stories.
But you won't be sapped from it. Your private guide, someone who knows Bhutan's history and culture, as well as where its gems of hidden nature are located, moves at your pace.
Como Uma hotel rooms are spaces for more than just sleeping. They offer not only a peaceful, pampering atmosphere but also spa treatment facilities, farm-to-table cuisine and scenic garden settings with the sole purpose of making it relaxing and enjoyable.
Luxury Bhutan Tour in Como Uma hotels 4 Days include all food and beverage during your stay at either hotel, including a personal guide and vehicle for all transportation needs; Each hotel stay gives you access to the national parks of Bhutan, unique cultural experiences, visa assistance, etc., all at no additional cost, with only the good surprises awaiting you.
You might think that four days is a short amount of time. When you are completely engaged and involved in things happening around you and taking time to absorb and reflect on what is happening around you, four days is a surprisingly long time.
As a result, your experience of Bhutan will be a rejuvenating rather than an exhausting one, with memories that will last throughout your life and that you will be able to share with your loved ones.
We at Classic vacations Nepal offer the ultimate four-day luxury Bhutan itinerary that is focused solely on the award-winning Como Uma Paro experience, with all logistical aspects accurately and clearly priced for customers who are interested in luxury Bhutan travel.
Basic 4-day Bhutan tours are avoided by the vast majority of luxury travelers because they are fed up with cookie-cutter itineraries and mediocre hotels.
The Bhutan Luxury Tour by Como Uma Hotels is not like that. You’re not just ticking off temples; you’re staying in design-forward sanctuaries perched above Himalayan valleys. Every meal is farm-to-table.
Your guide isn’t pushing you through five valleys in four days; they’re telling Bhutanese stories at your speed, in the kinds of intimate settings that feel personal. The Como Uma hotels are like private mountain hideaways, not tourist thoroughfares. You get rested, go deep and get back refreshed, not drained. The price reflects this. You’re paying for real luxury, curated experiences, and transparent costs with no surprises.
That said, pass on this tour if you’re short on cash (mid-range guesthouses are everywhere!) or spectacle is your thing; there’s plenty of valleys in a few days kind of tours to pick from. This is for those travelers who believe less can be more, who appreciate quality over quantity, and who appreciate that real Bhutan reveals itself slowly.
This Bhutan Luxury Tour by Como Uma Hotels - 4 Days is meant for travelers who only have a few days to travel but want to stay in two of the most luxurious properties in Asia. Confirmation of availability has also been provided for Como Uma Paro and Como Uma Punakha, both boasting environments suitable for the most discerning of guests.
In the Paro Valley flanked by soaring pine forests and mountainous horizons, Como Uma Paro is a serene sanctuary paying homage to Bhutanese heritage in design, service, cuisine, and arts and crafts experiences. All suites bear evidence of timeless Bhutanese craftsmanship, every detail celebrating local artisanship.

Wondering if 4 days is enough for Bhutan? Yes when it's designed right. Here’s the reasoning - You need 2 nights in Paro to arrive, rest and do the Tiger’s Nest trek leisurely. One night in Punakha allows you time to visit sacred monasteries and an authentic village, not just snap photos. One day in Thimphu rounds out the capital’s culture, food and crafts.
That's three valleys, deeply experienced. No exhaustion. Compare that to 3 days (too squished) or 7–10 day tours in which you would hike every day valley but also be oh-so-tired. Ours was a perfect 4 days: long enough to feel like not just tourists, and yet short enough to be focused.
Travelers always say, “I thought 4 days wasn’t going to be enough.” I was wrong. I felt complete, not hurried."
And that is why we have designed it in this way.
Prices depend on the category of room you choose at Como Uma (Forest View, Valley View, COMO Suite or One-Bedroom Villa), the season in which you travel (peak seasons are September–November and March–May), how many people are in your group and what add-ons you select (helicopter tours, cooking classes, archery).

We maintain a guide-to-guest ratio of no more than 1:4, so you're never left behind in the crowd. On arrival, our concierge is on hand and will take care of your luggage, issuing keys and providing orientation, no waiting around.
(Deluxe accommodations, actually, as both nights are spent at properties of Como Uma, the best in Asia.) No compromises.
For an added lift, a Helicopter scenic transfer is offered upon request (advance notice; additional costs apply).

Things to explore more..
Bhutan's seasons create dramatic changes in its weather. The difference in time of year will determine whether you will have breathtaking views of its mountains or an obscured view of the valley.
Spring (March–May) is Bhutan's peak season for tourism; it will be filled with beautiful wildflowers and sunny days. In March and April, the hills/mountains will be full of blooming Rhododendrons. Because of these blooms, the whole valley will be full of pink and purple hues.
Tiger's Nest trail (the best one in Bhutan) is also on a gentle slope and will provide you with great views of the Himalayas.
Local festivals will take place in April (Paro Drubchen), so crowds and costs will rise dramatically during that month. May is a great time to visit, with moderate tourist numbers and pleasant weather. The best times to visit for photography will be between 6-8 PM, as well as during the day when the temperatures are between 15-20°C.
Autumn is immaculate. September holds on to the monsoon greenness; October and November bring sky so clear that you can see the mountains in sharp outline. The weather is cool (10, 18°C) but still comfortable. The views along the river at Como Uma Punakha are really beautiful. Fewer tourists than in the spring means more personalized experiences.
Avoid Monsoon (June–August)
Rains come heavy with their share of clouds and landslides. The views disappear. This time of the year is not for the trip.
Winter (December–February)
Winter nights are pretty cold (5°C), but the days are bright and fresh. There are some high passes that are closed temporarily. Our advice: Reserve your spot from September to November for the right mix of weather, visibility, and real Bhutan experience.
We believe in transparency. The trek to Tiger's Nest (Paro Taktsang) is the physical highlight of this tour and a fitting climax. Here's what to expect right now so that you can prepare, as we can plan for alternatives if necessary.
The Straight Facts:
Length: It's a 4-5 hours (round trip) for the complete hike.
Elevation gain: About 900 meters ascent from the trailhead.
Terrain: A well-marked but mainly uphill dirt and rock path, somewhat steep in parts and with some 700 steps near the monastery itself.
Elevation: The Monastery is at an altitude of 3,120 m (10,240 ft). The trailhead starts at ~2,200m, so altitude matters.
What "Moderate Fitness" Really Means:
You don't have to be an athlete. You do have to be generally fit.
If you can comfortably walk for 2-3 hours on a rolling terrain/hillside or do stair-climbing exercises at your gym for about 30 minutes, then you definitely have it in you to do this.
It's a slow pace, broken up with stops for photos, water, and to regain momentum. Your private guide will tailor your pace to suit you.
How We Prepare and Support You:
Strategic Timing: We slot this on Day 2, giving you a day to adjust.
Poles and Water: Yes, you can borrow trekking poles from us to help reduce knee impact. We also bring lots of water and snacks.
Your Guide’s Role: They’re here to motivate you, control the pace and be aware of all the best rest stops with views.
Your Options If You’re Out of Shape or Undecided,
we aim to see that everyone will have a fabulous time. And if a full hike sounds overwhelming, we guided alternatives:
Scenic Viewpoint Walk (30-45 min):
If you’d like an easier stroll in, walk to the first iconic viewpoint (the one we all see in most photographs) along a flatter section of trail. This provides a grandstand view of Tiger’s Nest across the gorge without having to do any of the huff and puff. It already is a fulfilling experience in and of itself.
Horseback Assistance (Partial Ride):
For a little extra, you can hire a horse to carry you for the first two-thirds of the climb (to the cafeteria viewpoint). This spares a lot of energy for the final descent to and wanderings through the monastery. (Note: Horses are controlled and can’t approach all the way to the temple.)
We believe luxury travel should be easy from the first click. Our transparent payment and cancellation policy is designed for your peace of mind.
Your security is paramount. All payments are handled securely. Should we ever need to cancel your tour due to circumstances that are our fault, you will be refunded in full. This transparent process means you can be confident in the experience you'll get with your luxury stay.
Here's what the majority of Bhutan tours won't let you in on, and how tourists end up disappointed.
Mornings are cool at 2,250m; afternoons are warm. Pack lightweight sweaters, a fleece and a rain jacket, not a heavy winter coat. You'll put on layers at sunrise, peel them off by 2 p.m., then put them back on at sunset. Simple.
The Tiger's Nest Trail is a very steep and rocky gravel path with uneven stone steps. Sneakers fail. These should be broken-in hiking boots with ankle support. Bad shoes ruin Day 2 and every day after.
At an altitude of 2,000m and above, UV rays are up to 40% more intense than at sea level. Be sure to bring along some SPF 50+ (this is pricey and hard to come by in Bhutan). Wear three times a day: after breakfast, at lunch and at 3 p.m. You'll thank us.
All premium toiletries, hairdryer, umbrella, yoga mat and laundry done daily included. Don't pack full-size bottles. Trust the hotel.
One hand luggage plus one 20KG Checked-in bag. No laptop, no formal clothes, no multiple changes of outfit "just in case." Mix-and-match neutrals work perfectly.
Take off your shoes and leave them outside the prayer halls and inner sanctums.
When you're at a stupa, when going around stupas and prayer wheels, walk clockwise (counter-clockwise is not the right way).
Turn prayer wheels clockwise.
Don't ever point your feet at statues or monks.
Keep your hands off religious books and objects
Dress to cover your shoulders and knees at all monasteries/dzongs
Safe choice: Long trousers or skirt
Shirts with sleeves (no tank tops, no excessively tight shirts)
Closed-toe shoes are a plus (you will take them off frequently)
Before taking a photo of a monk or a prayer ceremony, please ask permission.
Photographs inside prayer halls are banned at some temples respect signs
Do not use photos without permission for commercial gain
"Tashi Delek" (Hands grouped at chest level)
Bow slightly (this is also a greeting's both hello and goodbye)
Use the formal you with older people, but address younger ones by their first names
Avoid loud voices or aggressive behavior
"No finger pointing; full hand waving".
Don't reveal the soles of your feet (it's disrespectful)
Don't touch people's heads (sacred)
Handshakes with strangers; avoid hugging/kissing
It is best to wait for the words of invitation before starting to eat; do not completely help yourself.
To eat, use your right hand.
Eat what is brought to you: It's considered impolite not to finish your meal; if anything on your plate goes uneaten, it implies the food wasn't good.
Burp after a meal is a way of saying thanks.
Politely refuse if you must , or eat an amount that's smaller in volume than what was offered.
Bhutanese food is spicy(ema datshi chilli and cheese stew is no joke)
If you have no heat tolerance, ask for mild versions
Food at Como Uma is all farm-to-table and presented beautifully
Tea and butter tea (salty yak butter tea) are served everywhere.
(Drinking alcohol (Bhutanese whisky, beer) is frequently offered with dinnerể.)
Fine-casual dress (no tuxedo needed)
Meals are leisurely and social
Your guide may join the dinner conversation
Religion-based respect for Buddhist customs (no beef at some meals)
Tourists should not wear traditional attire, but respectful dress is appreciated
Avoid revealing clothing, tight trousers and excessive jewelry
Hiking boots are essential
Camouflage or military-style clothing (disrespectful)
Provocative or too casual beach attire off the property of the Como Uma
Do not appropriate traditional attire for casual (it's sacred)
Visiting Bhutan is an adventure, and transportation in the country must be planned accordingly. This section provides potential travelers with an idea of what to expect, options, and timeframes for traveling in the country, given Bhutan's distinct air and road systems.
What travelers need to know:
Paro International Airport (PBH) is the only airport in Bhutan at a height of 2,250 m above sea level, with surrounding peaks as high as 18,000 feet. Its scenic landing between the Himalayan mountains is world-renowned.
Most travelers first fly into Kathmandu and then connect to Paro. All bookings can be made through Classic Vacations Nepal with no hassle at the time.
As soon as you step off the plane at Paro Airport, your Classic Vacations Nepal guide will be waiting for you, holding a placard with your name and a welcome packet. Your driver waits nearby; the private Toyota Land Cruiser is parked out front. You get greeted 30 minutes after you land, helped with a SIM card and currency exchange, and run through a quick Day 1 itinerary. This is significant because landing in an unfamiliar place can be disorienting; having your guide waiting for you instantly eliminates confusion and stress.
From immigration (20–30 minutes) to arrival at Como Uma is a mere 60-90 minutes max. It looks something like this: 09:00 landing → 09:20 immigration clearance → 09:30 meet guide→ 9.45 departure → 10:05 arrival Como Uma→ 10:30 breakfast/ rest. You're never alone or uncertain.
Bhutan's cell signal is surprisingly good in towns and valleys, which are where most travelers will likely spend their time. You'll typically have between 3 to 4 bars of 4G LTE with clear calls and high-speed data. But once in high Mountain passes like Dochu La or during the Tiger's Nest hike, the signal goes down to 1-2 bars or goes away altogether. This is intentional, Bhutan has a low ratio of cell towers to people because the country wants to keep its natural, mountainous scenery and maintain the philosophy of Gross National Happiness. Populated places are served by three major carriers (Bhutan Kura, B-Mobile, TashiCell). You can be connected in towns, and while on activities, but you really get disconnected when into the remote mountains. It's the perfect balance, accessibility combined with a true wilderness experience.
Como Uma hotels offer Wifi throughout all of their properties, albeit with purposeful restrictions as part of the luxury digital detox philosophy. Shared spaces such as the lobby, restaurant, and bar have high-speed WiFi (5–10 Mbps), suitable for emails and browsing or video calls. Room WiFi is purposefully slow at 3-5 Mbps, so that guests will get a good nap and not just work. This lower speed will make YouTube buffer, Netflix run at a lower quality, and Zoom calls occasionally freeze. It's fine to remain casually connected, but not enough so as to discourage productivity. If you really need fast WiFi, it will be in cafes around Thimphu.
SIM Cards: Getting Local Phone Numbers
Obtaining a local Bhutanese SIM card is easy, and it's also cheap, setting you back only USD 10–15 for the duration of your visit. The most convenient (and easiest) is running to the SIM card kiosk at Paro Airport -otherwise, approximately 5 minutes and your passport will get you a USD 5 – 10 plan. A Como Uma concierge can also pre-arrange a SIM that is activated before your arrival. You have three carriers to choose from:
Bhutan Kura (best coverage and speed)
B-Mobile (cheapest) and TashiCell (consistent)
Prepaid plans are a great value: a week is $10, and that gets you 2GB of data along with calling in the local area. Having a local number will allow you to call your guide directly, receive in-country phone calls and text inexpensively instead of paying international roaming rates (over USD 10 / day). Your guide will walk you through the setup so it's a breeze. There's no better way to stay connected in Bhutan than with a local SIM.
Hotel WiFi: We often spend more on data than on hotels, using a local SIM card rather than staggering international roaming charges. No extra charge for hotel WiFi , it's included with your room.
Cell Phones/Data Plans: Prepaid plans are reasonable, for example, USD 15 buys you a week with 2GB data included or get a USD 25 plan with 5GB and free local calls.
Cost Estimate: Local SIM (USD 10) plus 1GB data (USD 3) is equals to USD 13 total
International roaming is $5-10 a day for data. Local plan: A 4-day trip without a local plan costs USD 20–40.
Recommendation: Classic Vacations Nepal recommends taking a local SIM once you arrive. It is the most affordable and convenient connectivity option in existence.
Most electrical outlets in Bhutan are type D (3-pin triangular, Indian standard), although type A and C are still found. Como Uma rooms have a combination of outlet types and generally run 220V current. Carry one of those multi-adapters that does all three, you can get them online for USD 5-15 or at the concierge desk for USD 20. Regular outlets charge a phone in 1- 2 hours.
Power reliability is fantastic in the towns (99% reliable), but occasional short outages happen, with backup generators at Como Uma. A second power pack is a good idea for your trip - not necessary, but it’s nice insurance. Opt 10,000 mAh capacity (charges phone about 2–3 times). Charge it overnight at your hotel on travel days. You can use them when you're driving for hours in a Land Cruiser, or hiking up to the Tiger's Nest, without having to find plugs along the way with a power bank that actually is useful for long stretches away from outlets.
At Como Uma Hotels: Buying stuff in Bhutan is simple, using both credit cards and cash. The Como Uma hotels don’t require cash you can charge meals and services directly to the room or at checkout.
On the Ground: Local markets and street vendors only accept cash in Bhutanese Ngultrum (BTN). There are ATMs in Paro and Thimphu that offer good rates for local currency, usually better than those of the airport exchangers.
Before You Leave: Make sure you tell your bank the dates you are traveling in Bhutan; otherwise, they will put a fraud block on your card. ATM withdrawals charge USD 2–5 per withdrawal, up to approximately 10,000 BTN (USD 113) a time.
How Much Cash to Withdraw:
What Not to Rely On: While many tech-savvy travelers make do with electronic wallets like Apple Pay or Google Pay, digital wallets aren’t widely accepted in Bhutan. Carry local cash and use credit cards at hotels.
No, it's optional. But we highly recommend it; it's Bhutan's no. 1 icon and truly spectacular. The hike is uphill for 2 hours, and the elevation gain is 900m (moderate fitness level required). If you're worried about fitness, we provide alternatives: a shorter 30-minute viewpoint walk with similar views, or hiking partway and taking the rest in at the tea house. Your guide will adjust the pace to suit all.
Absolutely. Alternative activities: Relaxing in the spa at Como Uma Paro (hot-stone bath, yoga and massage), guided garden walks or cultural visits to nearby monasteries; linger longer in Paro town. The choice is yours.
Altitudes are moderate: Paro 2250m, Punakha 1300 m, Thimphu 2334m At these heights, altitude sickness is uncommon. Hydrate, take it easy. Day 1, no heavy alcohol first night. If you have concerns about the altitude, take your own meds or let the guide know.
Spring (March-May): 15 to 20 °C, warm mornings yet cold. Autumn (Sep-Nov): 10-18°C, cool but pleasant. Dress in layers and have a fleece or light down jacket. You're not scaling Everest; standard mountain wear does the trick.
Highly recommended, though not mandatory. We recommend full coverage, which includes altitude, medical treatment and evacuation, loss of items, and cancellation. Insurance is 40-80 USD according to valuation.
